How to Get Featured on Yahoo Finance

Most of what appears on Yahoo Finance was not written by Yahoo Finance. It is one of the largest content aggregators in financial media, republishing partner publications and wires at volume. That single fact changes the strategy completely: in most cases you do not pitch Yahoo, you get into something Yahoo carries.

Updated 2026-11-06. We sell distribution, which is route three of four.

How Yahoo Finance actually fills up

Four streams feed the site, and they have nothing in common except the domain they land on:

  • Partner and wire syndication. Articles written by other publications and news agencies, republished under their own bylines. By volume, this is most of what you read there.
  • Ticker news feeds. Each quoted security has a news tab fed automatically from wires and partners. For a listed company, this is why coverage accumulates without anyone pitching.
  • Press release sections. Labelled release pages arriving through distribution networks. Your words, no reporter, links normally nofollow.
  • Yahoo Finance's own editorial. A real newsroom producing original reporting, video and analysis small relative to the syndicated volume, and the hardest of the four to reach.

The practical test for any Yahoo Finance page: look at the byline. If it names another publication, that publication was the route. If it says press release, distribution was the route. The difference decides what the page is worth and how you can describe it.

Route 1: Get covered by something Yahoo carries

The same article open in three overlapping browser windows

The most valuable route, and the one almost nobody plans for. If a publication whose content Yahoo Finance syndicates writes about you, your article can end up on Yahoo Finance without you ever contacting Yahoo with a real byline, real reporting, and a link from the original publication as well.

How to work it: spend an hour on Yahoo Finance reading bylines on stories about companies like yours. You are building a list of the publications that are actually syndicated in your sector, which changes over time, so a list you build today beats one from a blog post. Then pitch those publications directly, on their terms, as you would any trade or business outlet.

This is ordinary media relations: a named reporter, a story that passes the stranger test, data only you have. The pitch email template is the mechanics, and our Business Insider guide covers one of the publications frequently carried.

Route 2: The ticker feed, if you are listed

A monitor showing a rising financial chart, watched from the side

Publicly traded companies get something no private company can buy: a permanent page keyed to their ticker, with a news tab that fills automatically from wires and partners. A release distributed over an enterprise wire lands there as a matter of course.

Two consequences. First, if you are listed, the question is not how to get on Yahoo Finance but whether your wire distribution and reporting cadence are good enough to make the ticker page read well, because investors do read it. Second, consistency matters more than volume: a quarterly results release in the same format every period builds an archive, while sporadic announcements build noise. Our earnings distribution page covers the cadence and the compliance boundary.

If you are not listed, this route is closed, and no vendor can open it. That is worth knowing before paying anyone who implies otherwise.

Route 3: Paid distribution

Our route, described plainly. A distribution network places your written release on partner sections of large publishers, Yahoo Finance among them. The page sits on their domain, is labelled as a press release, is read by no reporter, and carries links that are normally nofollow or sponsored.

It is worth buying for a dated third-party record of a real milestone, for third-party pages in the results when someone searches your company name, for the crawlable reach that aggregators and AI answer engines draw on, and for a predictable timeline around a launch. It is not worth buying if you expect a journalist to write about you, or if the budget was justified by expected ranking gains.

In our pricing, Yahoo Finance sits in the $899 Authority package alongside Business Insider, 300+ placements and a report with every live URL so you can open each placement and see exactly which surface it landed on. Delivery is up to 7 business days.

Route 4: Yahoo Finance's own newsroom

Yahoo Finance does produce original work: market reporting, company analysis, video interviews and live programming. The realistic entry point for a company that is not already significant is not a story about you: it is being a usable source for a story about something else.

That means being quotable on a market, a sector or a policy change with figures from your own operations, available at short notice, and comfortable on camera for the video and live segments, which need guests continuously. Economic-impact angles are the most reliable opening: what a rate change, a tariff or a labour shortage is doing to a real business, with numbers.

Answer journalist requests weekly so your name exists in print when a producer checks, and keep a one-paragraph note of what you can speak to with the specific figures attached. Being easy to book is most of what gets someone booked.

What a Yahoo Finance placement is worth

It depends entirely on which of the four routes produced it, and the gap is large.

A syndicated partner article is the best outcome: genuine reporting, a credible byline, visibility on both the original publication and Yahoo, and a link from the original that may well be followed.

A ticker-page item matters to investors specifically. Its value is cumulative. The page as a whole, not any single entry.

A distributed release is a permanent dated record on a recognisable domain, useful in due diligence and name searches, with no ranking signal from the link itself.

Whichever you get, describe it accurately. The people most likely to be impressed by a Yahoo Finance logo are also the people most likely to click it, and a claim that does not survive the click costs more than it bought. On link treatment specifically, our note on what domain rating actually measures explains why a nofollow link from a high-authority domain does not do what vendors imply.

Checklist

  1. Spend an hour reading bylines on Yahoo Finance stories about companies like yours. Write down the publications. That list is your actual target.
  2. Pitch those publications directly, with a story that passes the stranger test and a number only you have.
  3. Register on two journalist request platforms and answer three requests a week, so your name is findable when a producer or reporter checks.
  4. If you are listed, audit your ticker page as a prospect would read it, and fix the cadence rather than the pitching.
  5. Use distribution for dated milestones, knowing it produces a labelled release page rather than coverage.
  6. Whatever you get, link to it rather than displaying a logo, and credit the publication that actually wrote it.

Yahoo Finance coverage FAQ

How do you get featured on Yahoo Finance?

Four routes, and the first is the one most people miss. Yahoo Finance republishes a large volume of content from partner publications and wires, so getting covered by one of those partners is frequently what puts you on Yahoo Finance. You are not pitching Yahoo at all. Second, if you are publicly traded, releases distributed over the wires appear automatically in the news feed on your ticker page. Third, paid press release distribution places labelled release pages on the site. Fourth, Yahoo Finance has its own editorial team, which is small relative to the volume of syndicated content and correspondingly hard to reach.

How much does it cost to get a press release on Yahoo Finance?

Yahoo does not sell placement directly at retail. The cost is whatever the distribution package costs that includes its finance pages, which is typically a mid or upper tier: our Authority package at $899 includes Yahoo Finance and Business Insider along with 300+ placements and the written release. Be clear about what you are buying: a labelled press release page, not editorial coverage, with links that are normally nofollow. For the dated record and name-search results that is genuinely useful; as a ranking tactic it is not.

Does a Yahoo Finance press release help SEO?

Directly, very little: links in press release sections are normally marked nofollow or sponsored, so no ranking signal passes. Indirectly there is a real effect worth understanding: Yahoo Finance content is crawled aggressively, aggregated widely and cited by AI answer engines, and syndicated releases often get picked up by smaller sites whose links are sometimes followed. That secondary pickup is the mechanism by which distribution occasionally helps rankings. It is a side effect, not a product, and nobody should sell it to you as one.

Why does my competitor appear on Yahoo Finance so often?

Usually because a partner publication covers them regularly, or because they are publicly traded and every wire release lands on their ticker page automatically. Occasionally it is distribution. Before concluding they have a relationship you lack, open two or three of the articles and look at the byline and the label: if the byline belongs to another publication, the route was that publication, and the way to replicate it is to get covered there rather than to pitch Yahoo.

Can a private company get on Yahoo Finance?

Yes, through two of the four routes. Being covered by a partner publication works regardless of whether you are listed, and it is the route that produces actual journalism. Paid distribution also works and is predictable. What a private company does not get is the ticker feed, which is the automatic route and the reason listed companies appear so much more often. For most private companies the honest sequence is: earn coverage in a trade publication that Yahoo syndicates, and use distribution for dated milestones.

Is "as seen on Yahoo Finance" a claim I can make?

Only in a form that matches what happened. If a partner publication wrote about you and Yahoo republished it, saying your coverage appeared on Yahoo Finance is accurate, and crediting the original publication is both fairer and more impressive. If it was a distributed press release, describe it as coverage you distributed, and link to the page so people can see what it is. Displaying the logo in a way that implies Yahoo's newsroom examined your business is the version that misleads.
